CATS IN TRANSITION VOLUNTEER QUESTIONNAIRE
At Feral Fixers, our Cats in Transition (CiT) program serves as a crucial step for cats and kittens between rescue and foster care. This program allows us to evaluate their health and evaluate temperament before they move into a foster home.
Feral Fixers rescues cats from the outside and because of that CiT follows strict infection control protocols. Our cleaning and care procedures are designed to minimize the risk of disease transmission. All volunteers are expected to complete a training process and follow our guidelines and protocols
Dedicated volunteers provide daily care for these cats at our facility, every morning and evening
Volunteer Responsibilities
Each shift includes 2-4 volunteers, with assigned duties such as:
- Feeding & Cleaning – Litter boxes, cages, rooms, dishes, laundry, garbage disposal
- Health Monitoring & Documentation – Observing and recording any health concerns
- Medicating Cats – Administering oral medications, topical creams, and eye/ear treatments as needed
- Socializing Cats & Kittens – Helping them adjust and prepare for foster homes
- Crate & Carrier Cleaning – Ensuring all transport equipment is properly sanitized
- Shift Updates & Communication – Sharing observations with the CiT team via a Facebook group
Volunteer Requirements
- Commitment – Must be able to commit to a weekly recurring shift and take responsibility for shift coverage when needed
- CiT Training – Completion of required training before starting
- Cleaning Responsibilities – Includes daily laundry, dishwashing, sanitizing toys and supplies, and general facility upkeep
