Last Thursday and Sunday, Feral Fixers brought in 39 cats (in two trips) to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed.
On Thursday, we brought in 34 cats. 17 of these were friendles while the other 17 were feral friendlies. Super-volunteer Charli helped me pick up the cats from Tammy's and bring them to PAWS while super-volunteers Rita and Judy helped me pick up the cats from PAWS and bring them back to Tammy's for recovery. Thanks Charli! Thanks Rita! Thanks Judy! And, as always, super-volunteer Judy (the 'other' Judy) was at Tammy's in the morning and the afternnon helping with all of the work that goes on to make days like this possible - thanks Judy!
One of these cats turns out to have been already spayed while another was deemed too ill to have surgery, so PAWS fixed 32 out of the 34 cats we brought in on Thursday.
And, on Sunday, Feral Fixers brought in 5 more cats to PAWS to be fixed. All five of these cats were ferals. Super-volunteer Jennifer picked up the cats from Tammy's and brought them to PAWS while super-super-volunteer Charli picked up the cats from PAWS (and endured a very late evening at PAWS) and brought them back to Tammy's. Thanks Jennifer! Thanks Charli!
With these 37 cats, Feral Fixers has now processed 106 cats for October, 877 for the year and 4,382 overall.
And, one other note. Emily, the 'friendly' cat that had bitten a vet a couple of weeks ago, was finally off of the rabies watch and ready to come home. I picked her up from PAWS on Saturday and brought her back to Foster care. Hopefully her next trip to PAWS will go much easier!
