On Wednesday, we brought in 30 more cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. 16 of these were friendly ferals while the other 14 were true ferals.
I picked up the cats in the morning from Tammy's and brought them to PAWS and then picked them up from PAWS in the afternoon and drove them back to Tammy's for recovery and redistribution. As always, we have to thank super-volunteer Sue for the use of her van so that all of these cats could be taken in one load (Thanks Sue!) and we have to thank super-volunteer Judy for being at Tammy's in the morning and in the afternoon to help with the cats (Thanks Judy!)
Normally with a load this big, there is always something strange that happens; either a cat has already been neutered (but not ear-tipped) or one or more are too sick to have surgery or SOMETHING, but not today. 30 cats in, 30 cats fixed, 30 cats no longer contributing to the cat over-population problem.
With these 30 cats, Feral Fixers finished August with a total of 139 cats spayed/neutered this month. For 2011 we have processed 576 cats and overall, 3,057 cats - number 3,000 is already in the rear-view mirror...
