Today, Feral Fixers brought in 46 more cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. 32 of these cats were friendly ferals while the other 14 were true ferals. Almost all of the friendly ferals were kittens which had been born to outdoor moms - and then caught and fostered by a whole host of volunteers.

It takes a lot of people to get 46 cats ready to go to PAWS and then to bring them back and recover & redistribute them. Super-volunteer Sue once again loaned us the use of her van (Thanks Sue!) which I used to pick up some of the cats from Tammy's and take them to PAWS and then pick them up from PAWS this evening and bring them back to Tammy's. But this van wasn't big enough to hold all 46 traps and carriers, so Super-volunteer Jennifer picked up the remaining cats from Tammy's this morning and brought them to PAWS (Thanks Jennifer!) while Tammy picked up the remaining cats from PAWS this evening and brought them back to her house for recovery and redistribution. And, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's this morning helping get the cats ready to go to PAWS and was also at Tammy's to help process and redistribute the cats this evening. She was also at Tammy's the previous evening, helping to receive the cats that we received from caretakers and fosters. Thanks Judy!

We would be nowhere without our volunteers, fosters and caretakers and so want to say once again; "THANK YOU - WE COULDN'T DO WHAT WE DO WITHOUT YOU!!!" And, once again we have to thanks PAWS for competently and cheerfully (and very inexpensively) performing surgery on all of these cats and taking care of those wounds that we are able to spot and ask the PAWS people to treat. Thank you PAWS!

With these first 46 cats of August, Feral Fixers has now processed 483 cats for the year and 2,964 overall - getting pretty close to that 3,000 number!
