On Thursday, Feral Fixers brought in 15 more cats (13 ferals and 2 'friendly-ferals') to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be processed. I picked them up from Tammy's in the morning (super-volunteer Judy was there to help me - Thanks Judy!) and brought them to PAWS and then picked them up from PAWS in the evening and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery. As always, we could not do such a large load of cats without the use of super-volunteer Sue's van - Thanks Sue!
Three of our cats had wounds, one of them quite severe. The PAWS people treated them and, for the severe case, gave us a full write-up on what we would need to do to nurse this cat back to health - You rock PAWS - thank you!
And, our cats are starting to get a reputation at PAWS - for the second time in the last few weeks, one of our cats bit a PAWS tech. Again, the cat was completely sedated, but had some sort of reflex reaction and bit a vet tech. The wound was not severe and no one is worried that the cat actually has rabies, but rules are rules and so, once again, we have a feral cat as a 'guest of PAWS' for the next 10 days for rabies observation. We'll be picking Norma up on our about the 20th...
With these 15 cats, we've now TNR'd 30 for the month, 77 for the year and 2,558 overall.
