Over this weekend, we TNR'd eight more cats; three yesterday (Saturday) at the Tree House Spay/Neuter clinic and five more today at the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic.
For yesterday's trip, I drove the cats both ways to Tree House and back. Today, super-volunteer Jennifer drove the cats into PAWS while I picked them up in the afternoon and drove them back to Tammy's for recovery (Thanks Jennifer!).
With these eight cats, Feral Fixers has now TNR'd 53 cats for the month, 724 for the year and 2,203 overall since we started.
2,203. It seems like it was just a few weeks ago that we did our 2,000th cat (and it was, in fact, just a few weeks ago) and now we've busted through 2,200. This is a lot of cats any way you look at it. Thanks again to our super-volunteers, to the PAWS (and Tree House) Spay/Neuter clinic, and most of all, to our President Tammy, who keeps everything moving along. And of course, thank you to the caretakers, the people who donate cat food and cat supplies and the people who donate funds to Feral Fixers. I've said it before and I'll say it again: THANK YOU! WE COULDN'T DO WHAT WE DO WITHOUT YOU!!
I can't wait to see the year-end figures for the number of ferals handled by the DuPage County Animal Care & Control facility in 2010. Hopefully we'll see another drop in the numbers, similar to the 35% drop we saw last year...
