Today I journeyed to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to pick up the five cats that our super-volunteer Judy drove in this morning.
The PAWS vets will usually write down any items of note about the animal they are working with on the check-in report. This information is of immense help to us and to the caretakers - letting us know if there is an issue that we need to be concerned about and/or to pay attention to. Sometimes it's about a wound or some other serious item like an infestation of ear mites, etc. Today there was a funny note - the vet wrote down "Overweight" for one of the ferals.
Yes, this was a big and hefty cat - it's caretaker is obviously starving it to death ☺
With these five cats, Feral Fixers has now done 22 cats for the month, 40 for the year and 1,519 overall...
