This may be our busiest week ever, and that's saying a lot. We did 5 cats on Sunday and 15 more today. I brought them and picked them up from the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic on both days. We have a bunch going in on Wednesday and Thursday and we just got the OK to bring in a bunch more next Sunday. We might do 60 cats in this Sunday-to-Sunday period.

With these 20 cats, Feral Fixers has now had 81 cats fixed this month, 688 this year and 1,299 overall. A week or two ago, I thought we might have a chance to get 700 cats done this year - we're going to blow by that tomorrow. 750 is now starting to look very likely.

The cats just keep on coming!

Once again, I want to praise the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic for everything they do in helping Feral Fixers (and others) practice Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). They've already spayed/neutered more feral cats (over 3,000 now) than they had budgeted for this year, but they tell us to keep bringing them in. They know how important this work is and they are tremendous partners in this effort. Feral Fixers could not do what we do without PAWS - there is just no other clinic out there that can handle the kind of volume we (and others) are generating.

And it's not just spay/neutering the cats we bring in. They've taken kittens into their adoption program and they've passed out large amounts of cat food to us (and other TNR providers) so that we can help the colony caretakers. Just today, PAWS gave us 20 18lb bags of cat food with a promise of more to come. This is such a help to the caretakers, many of who are just scraping by themselves but want to help their neighborhood cats.

So, once again, Thank you PAWS for everything you do for the TNR community and for 'our' cats...
