We had another stellar month of adoptions in October with a total of 39 so far and the possibility of a few more before the month ends. Many of these adoptions occurred at or as a result of two very successful adoption events held at our building in Lombard, one on 10/9 and a second on 10/23. Both events were kitten-focused event with 17 kittens attending each event for a total of 33 different kittens featured across the two events. Visitors and potential adopters enjoyed meeting, holding and playing with the kittens.

9 kittens met their new families at the 10/9 adoption event with 4 of these adoptions occurring after the event:

  • Star - Adopted by a gal in Yorkville with a 1 yr old female cat to be Star's buddy.
  • Helena - Adopted by a family in Northfield with a delightful service dog. Helena and the dog have become best buddies. Feral Fixer also helped them TNR some feral cats in their yard.
  • Spangle - Adopted by a young man in Chicago as his work-from-home buddy. His parents adopted a pair of kittens from us last December.
  • Emma - Adopted by a gentleman in Lombard as his first fur buddy.
  • Stripes - Adopted by a couple in Warrenville as a companion for a kitten they recently rescued from their yard.
  • Felix & Fettucine - Adopted by a young couple in Downers Grove as their first fur children on their own. They met Felix & Fettucine at the event and completed the adoption a few days later once their application was approved.
  • Brussels & Mario - Adopted by a family in Lombard who recently lost their last cat suddenly. They met Brussels & Mario at the adoption event, completed an application and were subsequently approved for adoption.

9 kittens went home with their new families from the 10/23 adoption event:

  • Danny - Adopted by a young man in Chicago as his work from home buddy.
  • Organdy - Adopted by a gal in Naperville who has an 11 mo old male kitten to be her playmate.
  • Dede & Delilah - Adopted by a couple in West Chicago, whose parents adopted a pair of kittens from us in August. They have resident male & female cats to help show the kittens the ropes.
  • Barry & Spring - Adopted by a couple in Glen Ellyn, who are parents of a former foster, and have 2 active and 1 retired very docile guide dogs.
  • Olivia, Orleans & Ozzie - Adopted by a family in Carol Stream with 3 children and a friendly mixed breed female dog.

It is truly wonderful to see all of these kittens and cats, whom our foster families have carefully nurtured, transition into loving homes.

Many thanks to the foster families who brought their kittens and cats to these events (Agnes, Becky W, Bonnie L, De/Candy, Dee/Abby, Emily, Erin, Jeff/Becky, Jen D, Jennifer/Jeremy, Laura, Nancy, Rachel/Sephie, Richard/David, Tracy). Special thanks to the majority of these fosters who were also able to stay during the events to interact with our guests and promote their fosters.

Our next adoption event will be Saturday, 11/13, from 11am-3pm at the Wheaton PetSmart (63 Rice Lake Square). This is part of PetSmart's final National Adoption Week in 2021.

We will end the year with one or two adoption events in our building in December. Please stay tuned for the specific Saturdays.
