Feral Fixers president Tammy tells us about today's trip to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic:
Today Feral Fixers sent 14 cats to PAWS. 11 ferals and 3 friendlies. Of those 8 were females and 6 were males. Debbie did the AM trip and had a ride-along, new volunteer Laura, who plans to also do trapping for us. Its a good way to understand why we do some of the things we do - seeing the end result. And then, Debbie did the PM run, too!
A couple of the cat's stories: Luke, a very sweet orange tabby/white, had been in a warehouse for the past year without a litter box, now they wanted him gone because of the mess. Sorry, but really, DUH! Oliver was trapped in a location that is situated between a grocery store and apartments, not neutered, not chipped, tonight he is making happy paws in a crate. Some of the other cats will be going inside with their caretakers once their hormones settle down. It would be simpler, easier, if they all were totally ferals, we could put them back and go on to the next site, but the darn cats keep deciding inside is better!
With this trip we had 14, for the month 55, for 2016 we've neutered 215 and the total to date is 8,650!
Thank you to the transport super-volunteers Debbie, Laura and Debbie (again)!
