Feral Fixers brought in 27 more cats today to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. 23 of these cats were ferals while the other 4 were 'friendly ferals'. It was 24 and 3 when I arrived at Tammy's this morning, but at the last minute, Judy decided that one of the 'ferals' really was a 'friendly feral" and so transferred him from a trap to a carrier - and then I notified the people at PAWS to change his registration.
And, wouldn't you know it - this was the one cat that they didn't do surgery on today - he had 'explosive, watery diarrhea' and the vets said 'no' to the surgery.
So, we wound up doing 26 cats today - 12 of them males and 14 of them females (counting the male that didn't get surgery, it was actually 13 and 14 - about as even a split as you can get).
Super-volunteer Charli helped me pick up the cats from Tammy's this morning and bring them to PAWS (Thanks Charli!) while super-volunteer Dedra helped me pick up the cats from PAWS this evening and bring them back to Tammy's (Thanks Dedra!). And, as always, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's this morning and this evening helping out with everything (Thanks Judy!).
With this load of 26 cats, Feral Fixers has now processed 54 cats for March, 118 for the year and 7,396 overall.
