Feral Fixers celebrated the first day of Spring (Spring? Really? Why is there still snow on the ground? Why is it freezing every night? Why is Lake Michigan covered in ice? Inquiring minds want to know...) by bringing 31 cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. 21 of these cats were feral (over half from a single colony) while the other 10 were 'friendly ferals'. Of the 21 ferals, 11 were females while the other 10 were males, so a nice, even mix for the day...
Super-volunteer Charli helped me pick up the cats from Tammy's this morning and bring them to PAWS (Thanks Charli!) while super-volunteer Deidre helped me pick up the cats from PAWS this evening and bring them back to Tammy's for recovery and distribution (Thanks Deidre!). And, as always, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's in the morning and evening helping out with all of the chores necessary to make all of this happen (Thanks Judy!).
One of the Friendlies was deemed to be too ill to have surgery, so a total of 30 cats were done on this trip. This brings our March total up to 49, our yearly total to 88 and our overall total to 6,064.
