This past Sunday, Feral Fixers brought in eight more cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. All eight of them were indoor-outdoor ferals.

I brought them into PAWS in the morning along with the help of super-volunteer Maureen (Thanks Maureen!) while super-volunteer Jennifer and her friend picked them up from PAWS in the afternoon and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery (Thanks Jennifer!). And, as always, super-volunteer Judy was there to help out with everything that needed to be done - Thanks Judy!

One of the Ferals had already been neutered, so seven cats were fixed due to this trip. While most of them were males (unlike last trip, where most of the cats were female), there were a couple of females. And it turns out that for one of the female cats, getting spayed this day was a blessing. During surgery, it was discovered that she had pyrometra, a uterine infection, and if she had gotten pregnant, it could have been very dangerous for her. So, in addition to preventing more kittens possibly being born from this cat, this operation probably saved her life too! Spay/Neuter is the answer...

With these seven cats, Feral Fixers has now processed 19 cats for March, 58 for the year and 6,034 overall.
