Volunteering is a wonderful and rewarding way to help Feral Fixers fulfill its mission of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for feral cats and to assist in finding homes for the adoptable cats and kittens we come across during our trapping efforts. We are an all-volunteer organization and depend on our Volunteers to perform all the tasks necessary to fulfill our goals.

If you're interested in helping with Feral Cat Care, Cat Transport or Fostering, we have designed Questionnaires for each of those opportunities. In addition, we always have other tasks that can be handled by Volunteers so if you have other ways in which you can help or are just looking to help in general, we have a "General" Questionnaire which we would encourage you to fill out and submit to us also.

Details on all of these opportunities are shown below.

Feral Cat Care

A major part of our activities includes humanely trapping cats that are living outdoors, having them spayed/neutered and then returning to their homes. To help us in this mission, we are looking for volunteers to help care for these feral cats while they are temporarily in our care.

Feral cats are brought to our location by trappers and caretakers throughout the week in preparation for them being taken to a spay/neuter clinic. Once they are done at the clinic, they are returned to our location for rest and recovery before they are picked up by their caretakers and returned to their home. While the cats are in our care, they are kept in traps or transfer cages, need to be fed and watered every day and need to have their litter paper changed at least once per day. Feral cats cannot be treated like house cats as they are unsocialized to humans and require careful handling. Trap dividers are used to enable safe access to the traps and transfer cages and allow for cleaning and feeding without contact with the feral cat.

You must be at least 21 years of age, have had prior experience with cats (prior experience with feral cats is a plus), agree to follow all Feral Fixers procedures and be willing to sign a waiver.

We need volunteers both in the morning and in the afternoon, with "sessions" running from 1-3 hours. Volunteers are needed most days of the week, but this varies according to how busy we are.

If you're interested, please CLICK HERE and fill out the online Questionnaire. Once this form has been filled out and submitted to Feral Fixers, our team will review it and, if we think there's a match, we'll get back to you. Thank you for your interest!

Cat Transport

In order for us to get the feral cats that we have trapped and are now in our care to the spay/neuter clinics we use, we are looking for volunteers to help transport cats to/from those spay-neuter clinics. We need volunteers to assist in both the "morning runs" (usually 7AM to 10AM) and the "afternoon runs" (usually 4PM to 7PM). Occasionally these times are extended if conditions warrant. For the morning runs, you will need to review the paperwork which is to be delivered to the spay-neuter clinic. When doing the afternoon runs, you will need to review the paperwork you receive from the spay-neuter clinic as well.

You need to be at least 21 years of age. You must have a vehicle that can hold at a minimum 10 traps or transfer cages. Any SUV or larger should work. You will also need to agree in writing to follow all Feral Fixers procedures and to sign a waiver.

We need volunteers both in the morning and in the afternoon, with "sessions" running approximately 3 hours in the morning and/or 3 hours in the evening once or twice per week. Depending on circumstances, these times may be extended occasionally.

If you're interested, please CLICK HERE and fill out the online Questionnaire. Once this form has been filled out and submitted to Feral Fixers, our team will review it and, if we think there's a match, we'll get back to you. Thank you for your interest!

Fostering

Loving foster homes are the key to transforming our rescued cats & kittens into wonderful family pets. Kitten season begins in April but is heaviest from May to October.  We need many, many foster homes to care for our high volume of young kittens.  We also need fosters for friendly adult cats who get rescued throughout the year.  Foster homes are responsible for the daily care of their cats or kittens. This includes feeding, cleaning, maintaining the litter box, monitoring the cats’ or kittens’ health, playing with the cats or kittens, and most importantly, giving them lots of love!

If you're interested in learning more about Fostering, please CLICK HERE or click on the Want to Foster? link at the top of the page. There you can learn more about fostering and, if you're interested, you'll find an online Questionnaire you can fill out and submit to Feral Fixers.

Something else?

If none of the opportunities described above appeal to you, and you still want to Volunteer, then please CLICK HERE to fill out our "General" Volunteer Questionnaire. Tell us what interests you, tell us what you can do, and we'll do our best to match you up with our other ongoing opportunities. Once this form has been filled out and submitted to Feral Fixers, our team will review it and, if we think there's a match, we'll get back to you. Thank you for your interest!

We couldn't do what we do without you - Thank you!

We need Volunteers!

Feral Fixers is an all-volunteer organization and we can always use more volunteers. We need help with:

Fostering

If you're interested in learning more about Fostering, please click on the Want to Foster? link at the top of the page. There you can learn more about fostering and, if you're interested, you'll find an online Questionnaire that you can fill out and submit to Feral Fixers.

Feral Cat care

Feral Fixers was founded to practice and promote Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). What this means is that we humanely trap cats that are living outdoors, have them spayed/neutered and then returned to their homes. While the cats are in our care, they are kept in traps or transfer cages and need to be fed and watered every day and also need to have their litter paper changed at least once per day. This volunteer position requires that you be familiar with FERAL cats. They cannot be treated like house cats; they are essentially wild animals and must be treated with the same care that you would any trapped animal. You must be at least 21 years of age, agree to follow all Feral Fixers procedures and be willing to sign a waiver.

If you're interested, please CLICK HERE and fill out the online Questionnaire - someone from Feral Fixers will contact you to follow-up.

Transport

As part of our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) activities, we are looking for volunteers to help transport cats to/from the spay-neuter clinics that we use. We need volunteers to assist in both the "morning runs" (usually 7AM to 10AM) and the "afternoon runs" (usually 4PM to 7PM). Occasionally these times are extended if conditions warrant. You need to have a vehicle that can carry 10 cats in traps/carriers at a minimum, 20 cat volume is preferred. For the morning runs, you will need to review the paperwork which is to be delivered to the spay-neuter clinic. When doing the afternoon runs, you will need to review the paperwork you receive from the spay-neuter clinic as well. You must be at least 21 years of age, agree to follow all Feral Fixers and clinic procedures and be willing to sign a waiver.

If you're interested, please CLICK HERE and fill out the online Questionnaire - someone from Feral Fixers will contact you to follow-up.
