Today, Feral Fixers brought in another load of cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. Feral Fixers president Tammy gives us the details:

Debbie and Charli made the trip in the AM and Debbie and Dedra made the trip back.

We sent 12 ferals and 15 friendlies into PAWS today. Of the 27, 15 were females and12 were males - one friendly was found to have a grade III heart murmur so his surgery was cancelled. PAWS cuts off surgery at grade II. McIlroy's murmur was found before Debbie left the clinic so she brought him back, our vet has done III's before, they had a slot open, so he went there today and had his surgery afterall - they have more support should a crisis occur - and we have delayed in the past only to have the cat come down with URI and delay even further. So, there were still 27 surgeries today! In addition, one of the ferals had a tail in terrible condition and the PAWS vet amputated it for him. Lots of stuff going on!

This brings us to 27 for the month, 52 for the year and 8,487 since we began in 2007.

Thanks to our super-volunteers Charli, Debbie, Dedra and Debbie (again) and to the great staff at PAWS for their continued "above-and-beyond" efforts for our cats.
