On Saturday, August 1st, Feral Fixers held another Adoption Event at the PetSmart located in Rice Lake Square in Wheaton. Feral Fixers Board member and Adoption Coordinator Sue gives us the details:

While the morning started out a bit slow, the afternoon ended on a high note with a high volume of potential adopters visiting with our many cats & kittens. We had 28 cats in attendance - 21 kittens and 7 adults!

Adults - Biju, Calypso, Castle, Lucas, Victor, Zeke & Zeva

Kittens - Berlin, Cafferty, Duffy, Duncan, Freedom, Happy, Harley, Kirby, Kissa, Kori, Largo, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Sparky, 4 black/white tuxedo kittens (Stewie, Star, Stripes, another girl), Tampa, Willow

As the afternoon progressed, the kittens drew quite a crowd, with many customers and potential adopters stopping to pet, play with or hold a kitten. The kittens showed their appreciation with cuddles and purrs. Many of the kittens were rather quiet, but a few had energy to burn. Happy and Cafferty, in particular, would have been much happier running the aisles of PetSmart to greet their future adopters!

We completed one adoption at the event today. A great family from Naperville will be taking Calypso home on 8/14. We also received an application for Orlando, and follow-up requests for Castle, one of our calico girls, Chloe, who was not at the event, and several kittens.

Many thanks to the volunteers and fosters that made the day a success! Thanks to Bernie, Toni, and Lauren for all of the help with the set-up and clean up - the kittens were rather messy ;-) Thanks to Janine, Joanna & Dan, Debbie, Diane, Kim, Vey, Cheri, Maureen and especially Judy for bringing your foster kitties to the event, and to Janine, Diane and Vey for staying to help during the event. Thanks to Tammy for stopping by to show her support. Thanks to Bernie for snapping photos at the event, and to Connie for posting the event on Facebook. The day was a success because of YOU cool

Thank you Sue!
