Yesterday, Feral Fixers brought in 34 more cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. 20 of these cats were ferals while the remaining 14 were 'friendly ferals'.

Super-volunteer Charli and I picked up the cats from Tammy's in the morning and brought them to PAWS (Thanks Charli!) while super-volunteer Dedre and I picked up the cats from PAWS in the afternoon and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery and distribution (Thanks Dedra!). And, as usual, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's both in the morning and the afternoon to help out with everything that needed doing (Thanks Judy!).

Two of the friendlies didn't receive surgery; one was judged too young while the second had URI (Upper Respiratory Infection) symptoms. This left 32 cats getting surgery this day. Of these, 17 were females while the other 15 were males, again a near 50-50 split.

These 32 cats give us a total for June of 104 (our fourth month in a row this year of greater than 100 cats), 472 for the year and 6,448 overall.

And, it's never too soon to announce Feral Fixers events! We are planning a Celebrate 7,000! event on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Our seventh (SEVENTH!) annual Frosty Claws will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2015 and our fifth Shop4Strays will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2015. All of these events will be held at the VFW Hall on St. Charles Road in Villa Park. More details will be posted when available but MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW!
