Over the past couple of days, Feral Fixers people / volunteers have made three more trips to get cats fixed. On Sunday, six cats were brought to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic. All of them were ferals. Super-volunteer Jennifer picked them up from Tammy's in the morning and brought them to PAWS (Thanks Jennifer!) while super-volunteer Bob picked them from PAWS in the evening and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery (Thanks Bob!).

Also on Sunday, the super-duper tag-team of Tammy and super-volunteer Mary brought in eight cats, all of them ferals, to the Chicago Anti-Cruelty Society Neuterama event. This team both brought the cats to Neuterama and then picked them up when they were done and brought them back to Tammy's. Thanks Mary!

About the Neuterama, Tammy had this to say:

116 cats were neutered. We had 8 ferals there. Mary and I went, stayed the day.

The Neuterama is a godsend for people who could not afford to neuter their pets otherwise. Felines & Canines has gotten a Petco grant to cover the surgeries, AntiCruelty covers the cost of the vets and many of the incidental needs that go along with a spay/day, so pet owners and feral cat caretakers need only pay for the vaccines for the cats. Rescue organizations come from an hour+ drive in order to participate. So far this year, Neuterama has neutered over 800 cats and are on track to do 1,000 for the year! Great organizations working together!

And finally, today, nine more cats were brought to PAWS to be fixed. Six of these were ferals while the other three were friendly-ferals. Tammy brought the cats in to PAWS this morning while I picked them up and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery.

So, all in all, 23 cats have been fixed so far in December. This brings our yearly total to 1,174 and our overall total to 4,679.
