This past few days saw two more trips by Feral Fixers to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic, taking in cats to get them fixed.

On Thursday we brought in 33 cats; 22 of them were ferals while 11 were 'friendly ferals'. One of the 'friendlies' did not live up to its designation and bit the examining vet. No one is worried that this cat has rabies, but the rules/laws state that a cat that has bit someone has to be kept in quarantine for 10 days before being released. So, this 'friendly' did not get surgery and will remain a 'guest' at PAWS until the end of next week. The other 32 cats were fixed without incident. Super-volunteer Charli helped me pick up the cats at Tammy's on Thursday morning and transport them to PAWS (Thanks Charli!) while super-volunteer Jodie helped me pick up the cats at PAWS Thursday evening and bring them back to Tammy's for recovery and redistribution (Thanks Jodie!). And, as always, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's both in the morning and the evening, helping with the myriad of tasks necessary to make this all happen (Thanks Judy!).

Today, we brought in six more cats to PAWS - all of them Ferals. Super-volunteer Nancy picked them up at Tammy's and brought them in to PAWS (Thanks Nancy!) while I picked them up from PAWS and brought them back to Tammy's for recovery and redistribution.

With these 38 cats, Feral Fixers has now processed a total of 69 cats for October, 840 for the year and 4,345 overall.
