On Thursday, Feral Fixers brought in 39 more cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic to be fixed. 27 of these cats were true ferals while the other 12 were "friendly ferals".
There were a lot of cats this day and a lot of people helping out. In the morning, super-volunteer Mary, new volunteer Edie and myself picked up the cats from Tammy's and drove them to PAWS (Thanks Mary! Thanks Edie!) while in the afternoon, super-volunteer Rita and I picked up the cats from PAWS and drove them back to Tammy's for recovery and redistribution (Thanks Rita!). As always, we must thank super-volunteer Sue for once again loaning us her van so that we could take so many cats (Thanks Sue!) and super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's both in the morning and the evening helping out with everything necessary (Thanks Judy!).
One of the females turned out to have already been spayed so a total of 38 cats were TNR'd on this day.
Some notes from Tammy on the days activities...
Quick count of male vs female - I think only 11 were male today.
Cat re-do was originally spayed 4/08 and came from around the corner and down the block from where it was trapped for today.
If all the cats trapped had been in good health, we would have gone over 50!
With these first 38 cats of September, Feral Fixers has now processed 614 cats for the year and 3,095 overall.
