Last Saturday, Feral Fixers hosted a booth at the Westmont Pet Promenade and Picnic in the Park. Feral Fixers Board Member Sue Lee sends this report on the event:

It was a beautiful sunny day on Saturday, 9/14, for the Westmont Pet Promenade and Picnic in the Park. Thanks to generous donator, Cindy Bennecke, who paid our entrance fee, Feral Fixers had a prime spot along the walking path in Ty Warner Park. Sue Lee, Maureen Gilhooly, Meggie Zayas, Lauren Byrd and Liz Challoner staffed the booth. Tammy also made time in her busy schedule to join us. The weather was beautiful and the event was well-attended.

Our prime spot gave us a front row seat for the dog parade, which featured dogs of all varieties, including some in costume with owners in costume as well! This made us ponder the question – do dog owners select dogs that look like them?!! Considering the large number of dogs in attendance and the large variety of breeds & sizes, all got along very well. Maybe it was because of the biscuits we and some other vendors were feeding them!

Our prime spot also gave us the opportunity to talk with many visitors about TNR, Feral Fixer’s mission and our success to date within DuPage county. Some folks were knowledgeable and very appreciative, and others were happy to learn of us. We also had our book of adoptable cats & kittens, which several families (particularly children) enjoyed looking through. All in all, it was a great day for camaraderie and information sharing among animal lovers!

Thanks,

Sue

Thanks Sue and thanks also to Maureen, Meggie, Lauren and Liz for their help!
