Feral Fixers brought in 25 cats to the PAWS-Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic today to be fixed. 26 cats were originally scheduled to be brought in, but one was deemed 'not ready' at the last moment, so 25 it was.

One of these cats was a 'friendly feral" while the other 24 were true ferals.

Super-volunteer Charli helped me pick up the cats from Tammy's this morning and take them to PAWS (Thanks Charli!) while super-volunteer Jodie helped me pick up the cats from PAWS this evening and bring them back to Tammy's for recovery and redistribution (Thanks Jodie!). And, as always, super-volunteer Judy was at Tammy's both in the morning and the evening, helping out with everything necessary (Thanks Judy!).

One of the ferals brought in had what might have been an ear-tip, but it was hard to be sure. And this cat was super-aggressive - it certainly didn't act like it had been previously fixed. When PAWS took a look at the cat however, they determined that she had already been spayed and the cat did have, in fact, an ear-tip (which they cleaned-up a bit to make it more obvious). So, 24 cats of the 25 were fixed today.

Compared to last Thursday, this day was very easy. When we got to PAWS in the morning, the paperwork was ready and Charli and I were out of there in about an hour. And, today was a light day at PAWS, so they told us the cats would be ready at 5pm. I got there at 4:45pm and the cats were already done. This allowed Jodie and I to load up and be out of PAWS well before 6pm - I like it!

With these 24 cats, Feral Fixers has now processed 61 cats for the month, 218 for the year and 4.954 overall.

Just a reminder that we will not be getting cats fixed next week in order to leave time for the final preparations for our 2013 Shop4Strays event. Details about this event, to be held on Sunday, April 21st, are on our website's home page. Hope to see you there!
