It was a nice summer day and another successful adoption event on Saturday, 7/1, at the PetSmart in Wheaton.

7 kittens (Palma, Polo, Poo-Bah, Vernon, Violet, Aeon, Brian) and 6 adult cats (Mojo, Watson, Tony II, Wendy, Poloma, Kitty) were the stars of our show. Everyone did very well.

3 adoptions occurred during the event to pre-approved adopters - all with "P" names - it must have been a trend! We also handed out cards and information to several other visitors.

• Palma & Polo were adopted by a nice couple from Marengo. They will be their first fur children. They are going on vacation until 7/19, so the kittens will go home after that.
• Poloma was adopted by a great family in Lombard as a companion for their daughter. They also have a very well-behaved 8 yr old Yorkie, who will likely allow Poloma to rule the house ;-)
• The last couple of weeks have been very busy with adoptions of the kittens and cats we had at the 6/17 adoption event. 14 kittens (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Lenny, Bruce, William, Bear, Princess, Viggo, Virgil, Lacy, Lani, Lars) and 2 adults (Luna, Silky) transitioned to their new homes since the last event. Lots to celebrate :-)

Many thanks to the volunteers (Sara, Bernie, Candy, Debbie, Lauren) and foster moms (Mary, Jillian, Diane, Cheri, Debbie, Marilyn, Catherine, Haley) who made this event a success! Thanks also for the great behind-the-scenes publicity support by Connie and Ted.

Our next adoption event is Saturday, 7/22, at the Pet Supplies Plus at 720 E. Ogden Ave. in Naperville, 11am-3pm. Next Saturday, 7/15, we will be at Citadel Information Management (827 Blackhawk Dr, Westmont) from 9am-1pm, for their annual Shred for Rescues event. We will have an informational table with our book and board of adoptable cats & kittens, and possibly a very social cat or kittens who can handle the outdoor event. Hope to see you there!
