And, I'm a bit behind in posting this...

In the May 26th issue of the Naperville triblocal, there is an article about an A.D.O.P.T. volunteer who "shares her neighborhood" with feral cats (among other wildcritters...)

This is a great article and shows how powerful and positive a good caretaker can be.

Feral Fixers is also mentioned in this article with our President, Tammy McAuley, talking about the feral cat situation in DuPage County and the positive impact felt from the work of Feral Fixers.

Money quote from the article:

In a 2004 report, Maryann Mott of National Geographic News, said some feline experts estimated 70 million feral cats live in the United States.

And what about in DuPage County?

Tammy McAuley, president of DuPage County’s Feral Fixers, said the feral cat population is less serious in the county than previously. “The numbers are down at DuPage County Animal Control (DCAC) across the board,” McAuley said. They euthanized 50 percent fewer ferals last year.”

A fine article - highly recommended...
