We processed ten more cats today at the PAWS Chicago Spay/Neuter clinic. Eight of these were from a hoarder situation in Bensenville.

Ho hum, ten more cats. That makes 83 for the month, 814 for the year and 1,425 since we've started. I brought the cats down to PAWS this morning and picked them up this afternoon. When I brought them back to Tammy's house this evening, she and super-volunteer Mary took the eight 'hoarder' cats back to their home in Bensenville. Not the most optimum solution, but what else can we do? We have no other place to put the cats, they're not being abused where they live and now, at least, they won't have any more kittens. Plus, they've been vaccinated, de-wormed, treated for ear mites and now have micro-chips. Not the best solution, but an acceptable one. There are just too many cats out there...

One of the groups we work closely with is PURRS of Naperville. When they have room, they take friendly cats we find and adopt them out. In addition to taking friendlies from us, they've given us money and cat food and today, they gave us another 45 cases of cat food. Thank you PURRS!
